Privacy Statement (PIPEDA)

417 Automotive Imports Inc. (Autosonline / The Car Club) is committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), S.C. 2000, c. 5, and all applicable provincial privacy legislation.

2.1 Information We Collect

When you submit a contact form on our website, we may collect:

– Your name, email address, telephone number, and any details included in your message

– Vehicle preferences or enquiry specifics you choose to share

– Technical data automatically collected by the website (IP address, browser type, pages visited), governed separately by our Cookie Policy

2.2 How We Use Your Information

We use the information you provide through our contact form to:

– Respond to your enquiry and provide the products or services you have requested

– Communicate with you by telephone, email, or other means you have provided

– Comply with applicable legal and regulatory obligations

– Send commercial electronic messages — only where you have provided separate express CASL opt-in consent (see Section 3 below)

2.3 Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share it only with: (a) employees and authorized agents of 417 Automotive Imports Inc. (Autosonline / The Car Club) who need it to fulfill your enquiry; and (b) government authorities or regulators when required by law. Any sharing for financing or credit purposes requires a separate, standalone authorization (see Document 2 — Credit Bureau Authorization).

2.4 Data Retention

We retain contact form data only as long as necessary to respond to your enquiry or as required by law. CASL consent records are retained for a minimum of three (3) years as required under CASL.

2.5 Security

We employ industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your personal information. Our websites use SSL/TLS encryption for all data transmitted through contact forms.

2.6 Your Privacy Rights

Under PIPEDA you have the right to access or correct personal information we hold about you, and to withdraw consent for non-essential uses at any time. To exercise these rights, contact our Privacy Officer using the details in Section 4 of this document. You may also file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at www.priv.gc.ca.
